Be a piece of peace

forpeace6

Kozo at Everyday Guru’s recently posted ‘We Can Make a Difference – Right Here, Right Now’ .       I believe we can and what better time to start than the night before Christmas?

“Bloggers for Peace is an effort to actively do something to create more peace in the world in 2013 by dedicating a number of posts specifically to peace. Everyone is invited to join and the requirements are simple and flexible:”

  • Devote at least one post a month to/for/about peace.
  • Put a “Bloggers for Peace” badge on your blog.
  • Link your post to at least one other post from a different Blogger for Peace.
  • Put instructions on your post for others to join the group or link back to this post.

Here are some thoughts on peace that have synergy with my own – hopefully they strike a chord with you too.

“Lead me from death to life, from falsehood to truth; Lead me from despair to hope, from fear to trust; Lead me from hate to love, from war to peace; Let peace fill our heart, our world, our universe” –  Satish Kumar.

“If we cannot end now our differences, at least we can make the world safe for diversity. For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s future. And we are all mortal”  – John F. Kennedy.

“Peace may sound simple – one beautiful word – but it requires everything we have, every quality, every strength, every dream, every high ideal” –   Yehudi Menuhin

“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, there would be peace” –  John Lennon.

So why not give it a go…. all we are saying is give peace a chance.

  2. You just made my day again dear Kozo 🙂 Post on Everyday Gurus every day if you can (and when they’re old enough, maybe encourage your beautiful children to join you too). You’re an inspiration, a rare and precious gift in a world that can be happier and more peaceable if we keep trying. Love, help and hugs are yours always, my gift of friendship to you.

  4. Wonderful quotations Tracy. If only the world was driven by Love, Peace, Goodwill, ‘Doing unto others as you would be done by’ and not by Greed, Consumerism and Commercialism the world would be a much better place. Lets us all hope that ‘The World’ sees more sense in 2013.

    • I think the Bloggers for Peace group Kozo established through Everyday Gurus is a great idea. Change is the only constant and this planet, or rather the humans on this planet seem to have been at war with one another supported by some excuse or another ad infinitum… so the time to see sense must be coming. It’s certainly time to change.

  5. Another wonderful Christmas gift from you, Tracy. Thank you. This post is exactly what I envisioned for Bloggers for Peace. I might have to borrow some of those powerful quotes. Have a wonderful Holy Day and week. {{{Hugs}}} Kozo

    • Please take the quotes, we share the same aim, I’m here to help. You’re a gentle-man in the truest sense and I wish you and your family a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year Kozo. Here’s another gift from Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has” 🙂
